A day of dental clinic

I went to a dental clinic for curing my bad teeth. The doctor scraped my teeth without anesthesia because he had expected that my bad teeth were not so severe. However, since the focuses were deeper than he had thought, he anesthetized my teeth ridge and scraped my teeth deeper. That was very fear. The doctor said that you will hurt two hours later because the anesthesia will expire. He gave me painkillers that are very strong. I have been afraid of the pain. But I don’t hurt even six hours after the operation. Is my body normal?
