BSA is added into enzymatic reaction mixture to avoid the absorption of enzyme to plastic tubes
When we want to store recombinant proteins for a long time, we should keep them at over 100ng/ul because protein is easily adsorbed by plastic tubes under the lower concentration. Nevertheless, we use the protein for enzymatic experiments at lower concentration, which means that there is a risk that much protein is absorbed by the reaction tube during the assay. To avoid this problem, we will add Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) in the reaction mixture. By using this, we can examine the enzymatic reaction of the target protein without losing the protein by absorbing.
