The fantasy is one of the most important contents of the science, whereas to misuse it causes disagreeable problems. When a fantasy goes ahead of a fact, the science will get to be suspicious. Although almost all data of a study are based on hypotheses, even hypotheses are based on some certainties. Scientists sometimes want to use a fantasy excessively, because the interesting study is more widely received. If you generated a drug to inhibit rhinovirus, which is considered to be one of the causal agents of a cold, in the culture cells, how do you publish it? If you show that this drug is a useful tool to examine the growth of rhinovirus in vitro, this is not so interesting but based on the fact. In contrast, to say that you found the panacea to cure any kind of cold is interesting but a fantasy.
However excessive a fantasy goes ahead of a fact, scientists can receive much research funds when they have a good skill to write an application for funds. The hardest part of our work is to keep the balance that employ both fantasy and interest.
