Registration of postdoctoral fellow in USA

I needed a registration of a postdoctoral fellow to the department of the research institute where I will work from this autumn. After preparing my curriculum vitae and doctoral degree certificate, I logged into the input screen of the research institute.
At first, I entered my name, address and date of birth into the input boxes. I set an emergency contact to my father. We will be troubled if the department calls my father because he cannot understand English.
I enter the information about whether I am married now. Although I’m not now, I will be married when I start working as a postdoctoral fellow. So I answered, “married”. I hope my salary gets higher if I am married.
For getting a visa, I needed to make clear whether I have a PhD. I entered that I have a PhD into the input box, whereas exactly I don’t have it. I will obtain my PhD immediately before the day when I start working. The procedure for getting a visa was only that.
I showed my Social Security Number. The input box said that you should enter nine zeros if you don’t have SSN. I entered nine zeros, because I will obtain my SSN after starting living in USA.
Finally, I uploaded my curriculum vitae and doctoral degree certificate. I created my CV by Microsoft Word, and then exchanged it into a PDF file. I received a doctoral degree certificate as a PDF file by my graduate school. The certificate was very simple and had a sign and a stamp.
I sent all these information to the department. Since there is a time difference between Japan and USA, I will receive a reply tomorrow.
