To use checks is difficult

We usually use checks for paying some official fees including expenses for light and fuel in USA. We should send our checks by mails. I have never used a check before coming to this country. It is difficult for me to write the sufficient information for checks appropriately. I should write a price by literature, which is one of the most difficult task to achieve. When I want to pay 645 dollars, I should write as "Six hundred forty five dollars". Once, I attempted to write as "Sixty hundred forty five dollars", which means 6045 dollars. If I sent the incorrect check, I might have lost almost all the balance of my bank account.
