Multilevel proteomics reveals host perturbations by SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV

The interactome of all viral components from SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2 and its influence to transcriptome, proteome, ubiquitinome and phosphoproteome in a lung-derived human cell line A549-hACE2 was performed. The TGF-β pathway and autophagy pathway were specifically dysregulated by SARS-CoV-2 ORF8 and ORF3, respectively. Moreover, kinase and matrix metalloprotease inhibitors were proposed to be potent antivirals against SARS-CoV-2 infection.
