Comparison of the neutralization activity against pseudovirus possessing wild type SARS-CoV-2 (Wuhan type) spike protein of COVID-19 convalescent and Pfizer-BTN162b2 post-vaccination sera demonstrated that vaccination-related sera showed stronger neutralizing phenotype. The activity of post-vaccinated sera against UK-N501Y variant was comparable with that of wild type. However, the neutralizing activity against South Africa variant N501Y/K417N/E484K was significantly lower than that of other two strains. Viral infectivity was enhanced by the existence of N501Y, although N501Y did not contribute to the resistant against neutralization. The E484K and K417N did not attribute to the viral infectivity, but contributed to the antibody neutralization.
