Waiting for a result in a dark room
We usually print results of western blot in a dark room; a X-ray film is exposed by a weak signal from proteins that are set on a special membrane. The only illumination in the room is a slight lamp that has no effect on the X-ray film. When I wait for a result in the dark room, I think of many memories regarding the experiment. I used to perform the same assay in the similar dark room in Osaka two year ago. I had not imagined that I do the same thing in the similar place in America. Anyway, one of the invariant principle is that waiting for the result of western blot in a silent dark room is extremely happy.
