When something good for me happened, my American friend exclaimed to me "I am excited!".
Although I wondered why she was so excited though it was my pleasure, I felt that phrase wonderful. This may be one of the interesting cultures in America, which doesn't exist in Japan. I like such an American style that shows their feeling directly and excessively.
