Antiviral drug screen identifies DNA-damage response inhibitor as potent blocker of SARS-CoV-2 replication

Using VeroE6 cells that are highly susceptible for SARS-CoV-2 infection, a kinase inhibitor library screening was performed to identify antivirals against SARS-CoV-2 infection. mTOR-PI3K-AKT, ABL-BCR/MAPK and DNA-damage response were found to be critical for SARS-CoV-2 infection, and inhibitors involving in these pathways has been shown to be effective for the repression of viral infection.
