A single cell RNA sequencing study of bronchoalveolar lavage fluid cells of SARS-CoV-2 (early circulating Wuhan strain) infected ferrets revealed that infection-related macrophages are classified into 10 distinct subpopulations among monocyte-derived infiltrating macrophages and differentiated M1/M2 macrophages, especially at 2 day post infection.
